I was born in London, England and raised in Ireland until I was 22 years old, at which time I emigrated to the United States. I began working and attending night school to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work. I received my License in Clinical Social Work from the Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2006, and in 2008 I began the study of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment and ultimately became certified by the EMDR International Association. I’ve been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 2001 and am a certified EMDR therapist with a specialty in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and a wide range of other disorders associated with trauma. I’ve worked in many types of environments including probation, home health, hospice and education. This diverse experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals challenged by many different issues.Since 2006, I’ve been working in private practice in Orange County. After many years in the social work setting, I now enjoy working with individuals in a private setting where I can create a safe, warm and accepting environment to foster healing and growth.
